KUALA LUMPUR: Eversendai Corp Bhd has secured contracts for projects in the Middle East and Malaysia, valued at RM185 million.

The integrated structural steel turnkey contractor has been awarded a RM81 million job for the National Museum of Qatar.

The group also won a deal for the construction of Qatar Foundation Headquarters and Strategic Studies Centre on the outskirts of Doha.

"This project shall bring in an additional revenue of approximately RM30 million," the company said in a press release.

In Dubai, Eversendai has secured a contract for Adnoc headquarters from Sixconstruct Co Ltd with a package valued of about RM9 million.

Also in Dubai is a RM33 million subcontract award for developer Aldar for Yas Mall that is coming up in the famous Yasisland development in Abu Dhabi.

"The Middle East has always been one of our prime focused regions," group managing director of Eversendai, Datuk AK Nathan said.

He noted that the Middle East has once again given the company the opportunity to demonstrate its abilities, with more projects in hand.

While Eversendai continues expanding in the Middle East, it also focuses on growth in other regions, including Malaysia.

It has secured contracts for the Manjung Coal-Fired Power Plant, worth RM25 million, and Manjung 4 Project Ducts, worth RM7 million, in Perak.

"This gives our financial year of 2012 a great start and a firmer position, in terms of growth visibility," said Nathan.

"It is clear that our growth in Malaysia is accelerating and we are keeping our eye on the ball, focusing on our business objectives. Judging from our large client base in the current order book, we are looking forward to taking up more challenging projects," he added.

Nathan said the idea is to keep Eversendai's business well-spread across different regions. Thus, the group has started to tap opportunities in India, which is fast becoming one of its focused markets to achieve its growth ambitions.

"The new projects in the Middle East and Malaysia and progress made in India give us the confidence to forge forward to greater heights this year and in the years to come," he said.
